has been in the venture capital and private equity industry for nearly 30 years.
He started his career with 3i, where he spent six years, followed by three years with
Charterhouse Development Capital. In 1986 he was recruited by the Prudential where he
became Chief Executive of PPM Capital, its private equity business. In the next nine years
he built that business to become one of the UK’s leading private equity investors.
His non-executive directorships have included listed and private companies, including Gresham
where he was Chairman. He is now a non-executive director of the Bank of Scotland’s
Integrated Finance division and a special lecturer at the University of Nottingham’s
business school.
