has been in the venture capital and private equity industry for over 30 years. He started his career with 3i, where he spent six years, followed by three years with Charterhouse Development Capital. In 1986 he was recruited by the Prudential where he became chief executive of PPM Capital, its private equity business. In the next nine years he built that business to become one of the UK's leading private equity investors. His non-executive directorships have included listed and private companies, including the chairmanship of Gresham, a leading UK mid-market private equity specialist. He has also served as a non-executive director of Aureos, a global private equity fund manager focusing on investments in small to mid-cap enterprises in emerging markets worldwide.
